UNESCO posters


Educational posters on joint contribution of Jews, Christians and Muslims to science, philosophy and the arts


In partnership with UNESCO, the Aladdin Project intends to produce educational posters highlighting the joint Jewish-Muslim-Christian contribution to the advancement of science, philosophy and the arts. The posters in English, French, Arabic, Turkish, Persian and Hebrew will be intended for use in schools and other learning centers. They will be based on five themes:
1.    The history of medicine from Ancient Greece to early modern European medicine
2.    The history of Science from India and Ancient Greece to the Age of Reason and the Age of Enlightenment in Europe
3.    The history of philosophy from Plato to Averroes, Maimonides and Saint Thomas of Aquino
4.    Mutual influences between Arabic and Hebrew in literature and poetry
5.    Arabic, Islamic, Jewish and Christian music traditions in the Middle East and Andalusia
Each poster will incorporate 60 to 70 annotated illustrations and images. The posters, in 670mm by 1000 mm format, will be initially.  The production of the posters will be carried out under the academic guidance of a distinguished panel of renowned experts from Europe, North America, Israel and the Muslim world.
The posters will also be made available online in an interactive form with expanded teaching resources.
